Grandmaster Flash: Fun, baby...

There is a tinkling sound, and then the drums, and then the bass; a voice calls out "Freeze! Rock..." The backup singers come in, their voices rising, and then the groove hits...

Singers: White lines...
Flash: Vision dreams of passion...
Singers: Flowing through my mind...
Flash: And all the while I think of you.
Singers: High rise...
Flash: A very strange reaction...
Singers: For us to unwind...
Flash: The more I see the more I do.
Singers: Something like a phenomenon...
Flash: Baby.
Singers: Tellin' your body to come along...but white lines...blow a-way...

Grandmaster Flash raps for a while about the ravages of cocaine use, and there's a drum break, and the backup singers come in, their voices floating:

Singers: Rang dang diggity dang-a-dang, rang dang diggity dang a dang diggity dang a dang diggity dang a dang...

She did a little dance with her arms.

Singers: White lines...blow a-way...

Of all the moments when I was really in love, the one that I remember most was singing "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five with her at dusk. We finished eating our ice cream and she dropped me off at home; two days later, we broke up.
