what I feel

I feel I should write some things, to keep the base engaged. Unfortunately, at the moment I got nothing.

Other than...I cut my Dark Knight script down to a shorter length last night and...uh...that's about it. Having spent a decent enough portion of my life writing plays and then producing and directing, or at least co-directing them, it's very odd to hand one over to someone else and not really have anything to do with it until it's performed. So much of a show'squality depends on the people you cast, and this script, being a horror piece, has so much potential for cheese that if it doesn't have a good director who puts together a good cast, it could be kind of terrible. I must let go.

Uh, yeah, I just ate an apple. I like apples. Actually I ate it while I was typing the above, showing my impressive ability to multi-task. Apparently my friends Marc and Rob and I are taking a trip down to our beloved college town of Champaign this weekend, and will presumably see friend Henry, Erin and webmaster/regular correspondent Kurt Touhy. So that's really cool.

Did I mention I ate an apple?

Yeah?

I'm boring you aren't I?

Sorry.

I'll be going now.

There are obviously some risks when writing a ten-minute play about a character who's been in your head for 10 years: not everything will come out in the script. Thus, after interpretation by the director and then the actor the character can be quite different than conceived.

But take heed, audience reaction to the show was very positive. You should remember the show as a success.

If Peter Bottom too scared to come back out perhaps you should add a twist. Maybe Another Exciting Night in North Glenview could exist in an alternate dimension. That way the "real" Peter Bottom is still available, waiting for the right time.

Er, yes, um, were you the guy who played him? Very sorry if I offended you. Fucking Internet, always feels like a private conversation then somebody you're talking about wanders in...

Uh, I mean, not that there's anything wrong with what *you're* doing, I'm to blame...

Yes, it does vary with interpretation, which is why I usually like to direct my own stuff. I'm a control freak.

Yeah, the audience liked it. People applauded the dialogue. That felt cool.

What about the 10-Minute Play festival in Fall '02? Rebecca directed your Jarvis redux.

...see, I remember things...

Indeed, I actually, er, didn't mention that on purpose. Truthfully I wasn't quite pleased with the final product, not to be a jerk but, well I am sometimes. I thought the casting, particularly of the lead kind of marred that piece. I didn't want to say anything on the off chance that Rebecca, whom I love dearly might wander onto the site sometime and I didn't want to offend her, way to go Twinters. No, truthfully she was a good director in most ways, the set and lighting were well done by PDP 10 minute play standards and she closed with the perfect song, which I consider very important, it's just that dude, well, he wasn't Peter Bottom (a character who's been living very comfortably in my head for ten years and he's a bit scared to come out now, but I'm working on coaxing him)

Again, I hate to be a jerk but I'm possesive and yeah, Spielberg could direct my work and I'd have notes for him.

It wasn't really intended as a Jarvis redux, but rather another story set in the same world, of which there will eventually be many (the fabled Activision is one of them) I have a Master Plan, which will become increasingly clear to you mortals over the next couple of decades...

Your base is extremely pleased that you're visiting. If you want to stay a while, I'll stock the cellar with canned peaches and ammo.

Excellent, we'll wait out the tribulations to come...
